The text merely says “as in the illustration,” offering no concrete description. Contemporary sources feature similar beings that emerge from the sea, predict bumper crops and epidemics, and promise protection through displaying their portrait—closely related to types like Amabiko and Jinja-hime. Beyond the surviving kawaraban, firm evidence for Amabie-specific lore is scarce.
